Workshop Facilitation

Ecosphere has facilitated over 200 investment management workshops for government across Australia and New Zealand. These ensure projects deliver greater value to the community by clarifying the underlying logic of the investment at the outset. Workshops are compliant with Victorian Government standards.

Investment Management

Ecosphere provides a range of investment management services consistent with the Victorian Government's Investment Management Standard and its associated Guidelines.  The Department of Treasury and Finance is promoting the use of this Standard as a cost effective way of:

  • Improving the clarity and rationale for a given proposal
  • Reducing the risk of project failure
  • Ultimately improving the likelihood that investments will deliver their intended benefits

Investment Logic Maps (Problem Definition Workshops)

Investment logic maps are developed during a two hour facilitated workshop with the investor (senior responsible owner) and around 2-5 business representatives. A map cannot be effectively developed without the input of at least 2 participants. The aim is to develop a map which represents the logic for investing. This becomes the foundation document for the business case and benefit management plan, as well as ensuring that the participants have a shared understanding of the proposal before proceeding.

Investment Concept Briefs (Solution Definition Workshops)

Investment concept briefs are the result of a subsequent facilitated workshop that brings together specialists
capable of questioning and ultimately shaping the proposed solution. The investment concept brief provides a valuable feasibility check before proceeding to business case.

Benefit Management Plans (Benefit Definition Workshops)

The benefit management plan provides evidence that the benefits identified in the investment logic map are well understood and achievable. The plan further defines and shapes the key performance indicators used to track benefit realisation.

Business Planning

In collaboration with Optias, we provide workshops on the various components of business case development (risk, stakeholder management, community engagement), strategic planning, service planning, process improvement and organisational logic.
